Welcome to Robfactory
Site is a Work in Progress
Life can get a little dull sometimes. Work, Gym, Sleep, Repeat. Sadly that was starting to become my routine minus the gym consistency. I researched a little bit about pocket cameras. I had gone out recently and shot a couple of things with the Vivo X80Ultra, which is a great phone, but once I edited the photo, I was very limited.
One often hears about the islands off the coasts of Greece. To be honest, I've always wanted to go and swim in the crystal blue waters and see how in a way they have preserved their architecture and culture.
I've always wanted to go to Greece. The country holds so many points in history that are felt today. I got to explore a bit of Athens and Idra (Hydra) island.
I haven't really been engaged in taking pictures as of late. A lot of stuff going on with work and also, just haven't been motivated. So, a friend and I decided to meet up in Gansu. They would go for the marathon, I would go to take pictures. It was actually rather nice.
I've wanted to add a more green and red hue to my photos as of late to represent a bit more of Asia. This is my attempt at that and also getting out my old Contax 90mm F2.8 lens.
I also got more pics on Portraits
Marrakesh in Morocco for a Couple of Days
Morocco has been one of those countries that has always called to me. Ever since watching Casablanca, I wanted to know what this country was about and how much it has looked like through the movies. I was able to backpack for 10 days throughout Marrakesh, the Sahara Desert, Fes, Chefchaouen, and Rabat to explore a bit of the country. Mind you, there are still many places the locals recommended that are more authentic than these locations.
On the Updaside, I also got more pics of Cats
Finally out of China for a couple of weeks to see how the rest of the world looks like after 2020. I must admit, things look the same, but just more expensive .
Beijing for a Day
A day that should never have happened, happened. I was on a flight to Europe when my connecting flight in Beijing got delayed by an hour and a half. With no other connecting flights, I had to spend 18 hours in China's capital retracing my steps from previous years.
A city growing up from a tier 3 to a tier 2, but with lots of promise. Let's see if it can grow up.
The cool thing about Wuhan is that I get to ride a bicycle everywhere. At least, just about everywhere I'd like to visit. So, I've been taking advntage of that and exploring a lot more of the city. This means more portrait shots, more historical building, and just more everything.
Wuhan for a bit!
Wuhan, asides COVID-19, is a 3rd-tier to 2nd-tier city is some cool possibilities and a mix of new and old with a growing hipster community.
Shunde is a nice city in Foshan, China. It's a city still in the old, but sparingly becoming modern.
Finally! After a year and a half... I finally made it to Xishuangbanna. A nice place that reminded me of Laos, Cambodia and Thailand. I hope you guys enjoy the views. And happy year of the rabbit!
Shenzhen 2023
Wow! I'm on a roll. Two posts so back to back. Hopefully, this is the start of a new pattern. I have a friend in town for a bit and we decided to take a walk around Shenzhen before traveling to Xishuangbanna in Yunnan. All of these were taken on the Vivo X80 Pro. I didn't take my camera with me because I got lazy. Though a phone is good and convenient, nothing beats an actual dedicated camera.
It has been a while since I've gone out with my camera to take photos. To be honest, I've been feeling out of sort and with the cold, I notice I'd rather just stay home cozying up with a blanket and rerun shows than going out. So, this past weekend I forced myself to go out and explore some places like Baoan's Oh Bay!
Shanghai is an amazing and magical city. Everything and anything can be found there. Even after the 3 month quarantine. The city is always alive with people from all walks of life inhabiting the city.
Nanjing is a city with a lot of history. It is the place where Mao retreated to before taking over China.
